I bet there’s a few vero layouts out there already, but I wanted to give it a shot. Here’s my take on a vero layout for the Foxx Tone Machine.

This layout gives you the option of mounting the “Tone” and “Sustain” pots on-board, but I’m uncertain whether the width of the board will allow you to mount it vertically in a 1590B enclosure. I’m giving this a shot so we’ll see.

Update (05.07.2011): Put the circuit together last night and it works very well. Layout verified!

Update (29.07.2011): I finished boxing up my Foxx Tone Machine vero build. My kid was particularly pleased with how this one came out (recognized the fox immediately). I’m a bit disappointed though. The thing sounds really cool, but stupid me managed to solder the two board mounted pots the wrong way. No big deal, but it annoys me.

  1. Hello. Congratulations on the layout … I rode and found the pedal spectacular. It’s the first one I put on and that really omitted the sound. You could comment on the position of the transistors. It was not shown, but the position of Q3 and Q4 was inverted in relation to the one indicated without any scheme and I obtained more volume and gain. Already the inversion of Q1 gave me more creaminess in the sound. Only Q2 remained in the original position. Is there any explanation for this?

  3. Greetings! I have built this circuit. I wired it up with the offboard wiring I have used countless times and it doesn’t work, the LED doesn’t light up, but the bypass works fine. I took everything off and ran it straight to the amp. It didn’t work until I sent the DC – to ground (duh), then it worked perfectly. I then tried to emulate that inside an enclosure, but it still doesn’t work with any offboard wiring I try. Do you happen to have a link to the offboard wiring you used for this build?

  4. I can’t tell, sorry. You will most likely have to get your hands dirty and start debugging. Maybe not what you wanted to hear, but you’ll learn a lot from it.

  5. I recently built it and all it does is crackle really fast. Any idea what could i have made wrong?
